For those taking the bus to AU Viborg: Viborg Municipality will secure bus operations for the remainder of the academic year
The City Council of Viborg Municipality has decided to finance extra buses for the rest of the academic year between the city centre and AU Viborg during holiday periods when Midttrafik has fewer departures than usual.
When Midttrafik issued its new timetable before the summer holidays, some PhD students and others found that the travelling time to and from AU Viborg was longer than usual. Viborg Municipality intervened to make sure that there were buses from Viborg via Nørresø Kollegiet to AU Viborg during holidays. This agreement has now been extended to the entire academic year.
- Viborg Municipality wants to be an attractive municipality for students. This requires that we provide good conditions for students, and public transport is an important part of this. For us, it's a matter of showing that we’re able to offer the students good conditions in every possible way," says Rune Jungberg Pedersen, head of communications at Viborg Municipality.
The timetable for the next academic year has not been decided yet, but Viborg Municipality is aware of the potential challenges and is prepared to find good solutions to transport to and from AU Viborg.
